--- What To Post
You can post anything fun and interesting on CHEKONIM.com, except the following:
- Last names ..... do NOT post people's private information
- Political ..... please do NOT post anything political, if you are not sure, post as DRAFT and It will be reviewed.
- Pornography ..... let's keep CHEKONIM family friendly
Take a look around the site for ideas about the existing categories and entries.
--- How To Log In
- Open: http://www.chekonim.com/cgi-bin/mt/mt.cgi
- Use your username and password to login.
- Click on "Edit Your Profile" link from the first page.
- Change your "Nickname" if you want.
- Make sure to change your password after your first login.
- Enter your birth place for password recovery.
- Hit "Save" and start posting.
--- QuickPost
This will make your posting very easy and fun.
- Click on "Set Up QuickPost" link from the first page.
- Include "Category", "Extended Entry", and "Keywords".
- Press "Create"
If you are using Internet Explorer
- Right click on the "QuickPost" link and select "Add to Favorites...", OR
- Drag the "QuickPost" link to your browser's menu or Favorites toolbar
If you are using Firefox or Netscape
- Right click on the "QuickPost" link and select "Bookmark this link", OR
- Drag the "QuickPost" link to your browser's menu or Favorites toolbar
After installing QuickPost, you can post from anywhere on the web. When viewing a page, click the "QuickPost" to post an entry.
--- Post Entry
- Go to the page you want to post about.
- Click on "QuickPost".
- Select a weblog (i.e. Chekonim).
- Select "Publish" (select "Draft" if you want to save but publish later).
- Enter a "Title".
- Select a "Primary Category" (you can select more categories later).
- In the "Entry Body" enter the URL.
VERY IMPORTANT

This is an example of what will be in the "Entry Body", you MUST clean this up a bit.

Remove everything before "http:" and after ".html" so you'll end up with:
http://www.yahoo.com/text/yahoo.html
Make sure this "Entry Body" is of the following formats:
http://www.newsite.com/
http://www.newsite.com/folder/
http://www.newsite.com/folder/file.html
- Do NOT add anything but the URL in the "Entry Body"
- In the "Extended Entry" you can add your text
- Enter "Keywords" if you like
- Hit "Post"
After a few seconds you are given the chance to "View your site" or "Edit this entry"

If you are posting an entry that doesn't point to any site, type

in the "Entry Body"
For jokes use one of the following for "Entry Body", based on category.

--- Edit Entry
- You can change any field
- You can add more categories by selecting "Assign Multiple Categories"
--- Assign Multiple Categories
- Select a new category from the left
- Click ">>" to add
- Select a category from the right
- Click "<<" if you want to remove
- Hit "Save"
- Wait for update
- Hit "close"
- Hit "Save" in the "Edit Entry" page
Note that you should not enter the primary category in the multiple category page, it is already part of the categories, although it is not listed on the right side in the multiple categories page.
--- Good Ideas
1. Always search CHEKONIM.com to make sure that the page you are about to post, is not already listed.
2. You can add new entries from the first page by selecting "Create Entry", instead of doing a "QuickPost".
3. Always remember to hit "Save".
4. If you want to add an image from the web, please use this method (replace image URL with yours):

5. Always remember to "Logout" when you're done.
--- Trouble Shooting
Q1. The page appears incorrectly
A1. You have probably entered a wrong "Entry Body" make sure it should be of the format: http://www.newsite.com/ or the other formats listed under "Post Entry" above.
